I especially liked your thoughts on forgiveness as I struggle with that to the point that I've not spoken to my mum for a long period of time. Deep down I know that the mess of my life is down to me and no-one else and thats hard to accept, although it seems easier to blame so I do not have to take responsbility for my actions. Without such hope, I would have been lost to myself and others a long time ago. I'm a recovering Al-Anon and 'codependent' and so I try to balance both recovery programs taking care of myself and others. Being 10 years into retirement I was faced with raising two granddaughters and my husband who suffers from Alzheimer's Disease. He is still a huge help physically even though emotionally I know to turn to people in the program when I'm in need of support. Thanks for inviting me to be your friend Bruce. I notice you have many years of recovery and in that I'm sure you have much to share.
