Healing is a matter of time, but it is sometimes also a matter of opportunity

A Boy Longs To Play

Hidden inside, a little boy longs to play;
surrounded by things that were lost and
can never be replaced. Happiness stolen, it wasn’t
supposed to be this way.

Trapped by the insanity, and the scars of yesterday;
no one on earth could possibly know his pain.
Life so full of hurt, why did he even stay;
the belt so tight and the air cut off, but fear
stood in his way.

With no one to turn too, and his joy taken away,
how would he break free, how could he join any game.
Tragedy filled his youth, and it haunted him even today,
there can be no fun or amusement, not in December, not in May.
Hide little boy, run and hide; quickly I say.

And then in a moment it happened, that his despair,
humiliation, and wounds were repaired;
God has shown his mercy to which nothing can compare.
The little boy set free inside the man,
The man no longer strayed.
Together, he and the boy inside, learned to play every day.
