My journey towards becoming a strong and healthy survivor lasted for a little over a year. It was something I worked on everyday and for the majority of all my waking hours throughout that year, give or take a few each day for the normal eating, bathing type stuff. I had just left a job as a CFO over two companies, and was now writing my first book full time.
It is hard sometimes to see the path that God has before us, and sometimes we have to keep moving forward on faith alone. I knew that God had led me down this path, and though I did not understand how it was going to work, I still continued each and every day. It wasn't until I had completed writing my book, that I became aware of the fourteen phases of healing that god had taken me through.
I had finished the rough draft, and my editor was now working on the revisions. My editor, was my older sister who had been editing for a well known author, and was writing a book of her own. Originally, I would talk about the different parts of my life, and then I would explain the journey that as it unfolded and related to that part of my life. It was sister who said to me, you should really separate this information into separate chapters. She was the first one to see that there were fourteen different Phases I had gone through on this healing journey.
I was caught by surprise, especially since I had written them. I set there for a moment amazed at how God had worked in my life. He told me to write this book, and after much arguing I just gave in and did it on faith, I had no idea how he was working in my life, I just knew he was and I was healing. So, I would write about what was happening, and what I was learning, and lo and behold,,,the fourteen phases of healing.
I believe these phases can help all survivors have a complete and well rounded journey towards healing that can change there life forever in a positive way; the same as they have done for me.
