Recovery is my life, I live, eat, and breathe it. Without my program this me wouldn't exist and this me is the being that my higher power wanted all along, Strong, confident, intellegent, funny, charismatic and as always remaining teachable and humble in my sobriety. I am currently in school to become a Drug and Alcohol Counselor and am anxiously awaiting to get into the field. Aloha Martha

Just for today

Just for today I can tell a full moon was near or here, listening and loving all who share is rewarding and I am grateful that people call me instead of picking up a drink or a drug. I am grateful that I have a higher power that works and lives through me. I am greatful for the twelve steps and for my friends in recovery and for the serenity in my home and life today. peace to everyone aloha martha

just for today

Just for today I will remember that "coincidences are Gods way of remaining anonymous" Einstien also quoted as saying, "insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting different results" which many of us confuse with being the official definition of insanity, turn it over turn it over and turn it over one more time...aloha martha

just for today

just for today I will listen to others open-mindedly, willingly and honestly. I will concentrate on my path and those who stand next to me in recovery. I will not go crazy because I put down cigarettes two days ago. I will go to school and learn some more about counseling others. I will send good energy out into the universe........aloha martha

just for today

I think of the quote often by Albert E. "Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds" In my recovery I see closed minds from people who don't take the time to understand me, where I was, what happened, and where I am now. They see an "alcoholic". Thank you higher power and family from recovery for opening my mind to the endless possibilities that lay ahead, one day at a time, so that I may spiritually encourage others to see, honestly, open-mindedly, and willingl… Continue

Aloha Martha,
I am so sorry that you have had to endure such a horrible situation. I am saddened by what you daughter has been through. It is something no child should have to endure.

I am proud of you for seeing the prosecution of your ex all the way through to the end. You have a lot of strength and courage. It is amazing what you have done, and maintained such a positive outlook. It is also empowering to have taken action and not let the ex get away with what he did. I look forward to your friendship.
